Athletics

The Seattle Girls' School Athletics Program gives students the opportunity to participate in various sports through the year, including Cross Country (fall, grades 5-8), Soccer (fall, grades 6-8), Snowboarding/Skiing (winter, grades 6-8), Basketball (winter, grades 6-8 and spring, 5th grade), and Ultimate Frisbee (spring, grades 5-8).

Year-round sports are Skateboarding (grades 5-8) and Rock Climbing (grades 5-8).

Practices are held after school, and game times and locations vary by season.

The philosophy of SGS Athletics rests on the beneficial outcomes for young women involved in sports. SGS Athletics focuses on providing a competitive and developmental program emphasizing skill training, discipline, respect, and responsibility, all while promoting character and self-esteem. Our goal is to develop student athletes who are knowledgeable, motivated, embody the universal spirit of sport, and enjoy the camaraderie of the team experience. Through teamwork, competition and personal sacrifice, as well as the experience of winning and losing, participants gain lifelong skills.
