Article reflection

Read the attached article from Astronomy magazine about meteorite hunting in Antarctica and then choose one of the following options:

  1. You are a researcher collecting meteorites in Antarctica. Write a letter/email back home describing your progress in meteorite hunting.   What is your day like?  What are the hardships?  Have you made any discoveries?

  1. Imagine you are a member of a research team who wants to travel to Antarctica to do research on meteorites.  Write a persuasive argument convincing potential donors why they should give you funds for this trip.  Why must you go to Antarctica?  What are the potential educational benefits?  What will the funds be spent on?  Do you have new ideas for safer or more efficient equipment?  What hardships must be overcome for a successful outcome?

  1. Describe the journey of a meteorite that comes to rest in Antarctica.
