Proficiency Checklist: Sound

FILM REQUIREMENTS

Student films a BRIEF movie (maximum of 2 minutes, no editing, single take), which demonstrates the following key stills:

Each individual must hook up a microphone and film a scene herself.

The scene must involve extensive dialogue, preferably of varying volumes (for example whispering, shouting, dramatic pauses, etcŠ)

The scene can be original or a known story such as a nursery rhyme.

It is okay if the scene topic is the same as another class member.

You may film a scene with more than one actor, if you chose.

No swearing.

WRITTEN REFLECTION

Consider the film short you created.

Explain why you chose the microphone you did. What made it the best choice for your type of scene? What challenges/issues do you need to keep in mind when using this type of microphone?
