Young Eagles Flight
Many thanks to everyone
that made the 2005 SGS Young Eagles Flight a success! Particularly Peter Morton and all the volunteers at Wings Aloft. As part of the 8th grade's curriculum "The World and Beyond" we are delighted to be participating again this year in the Young Eagles Program. Each student will have the opportunity to fly in a small plane (either Cessna or Cirrus) twice, once as a co-pilot and once as a passenger. As part of our preparations that day we will also have the opportunity hear about pilot experiences from women in commercial aviation. The Young Eagle Flight will occur on Thursday, September 22nd. In the case of bad weather, our backup date will be September 29th. We will spend our entire school day preparing for our flights. Consequently, families will need to arrange transportation to and from Wings Aloft at Boeing Field instead of SGS. For driving directions click here. There is no cost to participate in the Young Eagle flight. Parents interested in flying with their daughter should contact Sally or MM. We cannot guarantee a spot for all parents and will fill these spaces on a first come, first serve basis. For more information from the EAA who provides these experiences, click here. |
