A Typical Day

At SGS, our students spend each day deeply involved in their studies. The schedule below will give you a general idea of what our students take on every day!

7:45-8:15 AM Early-drop off:
Students arrive and report to the Art Studio where they study, work quietly, or help faculty.

8:30-9:00 AM Advisory
(Monday, Wednesday, Friday):
Students meet with their advisors in small groups. This is a time for checking in, discussing school-wide issues, and sharing "quality time" with an adult advocate. Fifth and sixth grade students, in particular, focus on time management and organizational skills. This time is also used for class community meetings to discuss grade-specific issues.

8:30-9:00 AM Community Meeting
(Tuesday, Thursday) :

Morning and/or Afternoon Core Academics:
Curriculum at its best requires experiences that have a basis in the daily lives of students. SGS students solve real-world problems through their work in numerous arenas.

Throughout the 5 to 8 continuum, coursework in Mathematics, Art, Guitar, Spanish, and Health and Fitness are incorporated in order to promote the development of the whole child as well as future academic and personal success.
