Volunteer

We believe that empowering a girl changes the world, but we can't do it alone! Our volunteer community is instrumental to the education and development of our students. Since its inception, the SGS experience has been enhanced through the wide variety of skills, interests, and experiences that the Seattle community has to offer.

Our current volunteer opportunities incude:

Mentoring
We ask mentors to make an in-person, twice-a-month commitment to their mentee from October to June. There are many ways to be involved in a mentee's life such as coming to the school for lunch, attending a class culmination, or bringing your mentee to work.

SGS organizes and hosts a monthly activity for all involved in the program including activities such as pumpkin carving, ice skating, and volunteering.

Coaching
We are currently seeking an Ultimate Frisbee coach and a spring 5th grade Basketball coach. If you would like to coach, provide transportation, or help manage a team, please contact the Athletic Coordinator at 206-709-2228 Ext. 1910.

Wednesday Workshop Instructor
Wednesday Workshops allow students across grades to pursue an interest beyond the scope of the curriculum. They run for seven weeks on Wednesday afternoons from 1:15pm -3:15pm in the fall, winter and spring.  In each seven-week block, students select their Internship topic from a list of available classes. If you are interested in teaching an internship, please contact the Exploratory Program Coordinator at 206-709-2228 Ext. 1710.
