SGS Snow Sports

by Hannah
Winter is coming and so are SGS Snow Sports! SGS’ snow program was founded with a goal of providing resources to students who have historically had limited access to rich, white, male dominated sports like skiing and snowboarding. By offering lessons, gear, and transportation we continue to see students play, learn and connect each year.

All SGS skiers and snowboarders practice challenging themselves and persevering while connecting and self-advocating with students across grades. Add all the gear management and responsibility required and we’ve got ourselves a great opportunity for all sorts of fun leadership development as well.

SGS is just the beginning for some students’ snowy adventures. We’ve seen an alum start a snow program at her high school and another is doing search and rescue!

We’re excited for another season of adventure and snowy fun!

Located in the Central District, Seattle Girls' School is an independent school for girls and gender nonconforming students in grades 5-8. Our mission is to inspire and develop courageous leaders who think independently, work collaboratively, learn joyfully, and champion change.
