A Week in 6th Grade

Wow, what a wild and wonderful week in 6th grade! In just one week of school, one could see students diagraming, speaking, and writing about the biggest global and local issues they’d like to resolve. One would also see them boarding busses and adventuring off to two field trips; the low-ropes course in Bellevue and Seward Park. Teamwork, identifying comfort and challenge zones, and expressing joy were on display and left everyone feeling whooped and wow’d.
In science, they used texts and research to identify the parts of the mammal brain and then taught their peers what they learned. Ask your students about the guitar songs they’re playing in Music and the games they’re playing in Tech, “they will rock you and may even blow you out of the water.”
