20 Years of SGS

From Past to Present and Beyond

Twenty years ago, 32 brave students walked through the doors of Seattle Girls’ School for the first time with the courage and willingness to establish a brand new school with a unique mission. From the very beginning, it was clear that SGS was going to be a special place for future leaders—a place where they could thrive and not only achieve academic excellence, but also discover the power of their voices, learn to take action to make their communities stronger, and build meaningful relationships that last a lifetime.

We look forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary with you throughout this school year and closing the celebration next year with the unveiling of our new, permanent home in the Central District!
