The challenge and the opportunity of the next 20 years for SGS is to ensure that we live out our mission every day consistently and inspire every one of our students to fully connect to their own potential, promise, and possibility.

  • SGS will:

    • Assess our current curriculum, and codify our anti-bias and anti-racist curriculum
    • Explore co-curricular offerings to meet current and emerging student interests
    • Launch a study to capture key data and outcomes of our program, while continuing to document processes and policies across the school
    • Launch the SGS Leadership Lab: a forum to attract inspiring female, trans, and non-binary leaders who will share their stories with our students and facilitate the creation of new community partnerships to expand opportunities for our students to learn leadership skills beyond the walls of SGS.

    • Re-imagine how we welcome and engage families
      Strengthen mental health and learning supports for students
    • Partner with students and families to articulate the SGS challenge growth arc, putting words to the experience our students have of the increasing independence and responsibility built into our program
    • Design an anti-bias/anti-racist family development and programming series
    • Audit our approach to communicating to families
    • Provide regular opportunities for feedback
    • Change adult/family events to remove barriers to participation and meet current and emerging needs

    • Enhance the employee experience, considering workloads and opportunities for collaboration, as well as building culture and sustaining morale.
    • Improve the current compensation model

Town Hall Recap

Located in the Central District, Seattle Girls' School is an independent school for girls and gender nonconforming students in grades 5-8. Our mission is to inspire and develop courageous leaders who think independently, work collaboratively, learn joyfully, and champion change.
