Formulating Hypotheses

In both 7th and 8th grade we are starting off the year with lots and lots of hands on learning!  Students have been reintroduced to the Scientific Method and they are practicing formulating their own hypothesis, identifying variables, collecting data and writing conclusions with claims, evidence and reasoning. This will give them an incredible platform and skills to be able to create testable and measurable questions.

In 7th grade, students were trying to figure out if  M&Ms were randomly packaged by color or if there was a consistency of colors in each bag by collecting and analyzing data. In 8th grade, students designed their own experiments testing a variety of variables.
