5th Grade Music Composition

5th graders are learning about composition in music class right now. Composing music is a challenging task that weaves together many of the skills we’ve been working on this year. Students have a chord progression to play, tablature to write out and play a melody, and lyrics to write. We have almost completed a song to represent the class’s values. Next, students will work on writing a theme song for the super characters they are developing. Super person theme music needs to take into account a character’s background and values in addition to being catchy and interesting. 5th grade adults can look forward to hearing their student’s super person theme at the upcoming culmination on February 16th!
