Celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2022 (6:30-7:30 pm)

The Family Education team of the SFA are excited to bring you two speakers to touch on this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Break the Bias,” by sharing parts of their life journeys and discussing girls’ education. Dr. Ralina L. Joseph is a scholar, teacher, and facilitator of race and communication. She is Presidential Term Professor of Communication, founding and acting Director of the Center for Communication, Difference, and Equity, and Associate Dean of Equity and Justice in Graduate Programs at the University of Washington, Seattle. She received her B.A. in American Civilization at Brown University, and M.A. and Ph.D in Ethnic Studies at the University of California, San Diego. Ralina is the author of three books, the latest of which is Generation Mixed Goes to School (with Allison Briscoe-Smith, 2021). Heather Cameron is a Principal Product Manager at Syndio, helping strategize about how software and data can help companies measure, achieve, and sustain workplace equity. Heather earned a Masters degree in Applied Science and a Bachelor's degree in Economics, both from the Johns Hopkins University.  Prior to Syndio, she helped PricewaterhouseCoopers build a product to help upskill the workforce of the future–and ensure companies were upskilling their teams equitably.
