Prior to working at SGS, Esther taught math for six years in Vermont and California, ranging from Algebra I up through AP Calculus. She holds a Washington State credential with endorsements for teaching mathematics and English Language Learners.

Esther loves SGS’s amazing sense of community and the opportunity to experience frequent moments of joy and laughter with her students and colleagues. She particularly appreciates teaching middle school because it is never predictable, always interesting, and often funny! Teaching middle school also allows her to connect with students at a pivotal time in their growth as mathematical thinkers.

Outside of school, Esther enjoys being active outdoors with friends, including her husband and two young daughters.
