Celebrating Our Champions of the Game Donor Wall

Before our new gym and community space — now known as The Hive — came to life, we asked students to describe what Seattle Girls’ School means to them in just one word. The responses poured in: Leader. Creative. Powerful. Snazzy. It was no surprise that many of those words showed up again and again, capturing the spirit of SGS.

When it came time to design the new space, we knew we wanted to celebrate both our students’ voices and the donors who made this dream possible. The result is our Champions of the Game Donor Wall, a stunning, wall-engraved word cloud that reflects the heart of our community. Each word etched into the wall was submitted by students, with the ones mentioned most often displayed in larger type. Together, they form a visual representation of who we are: a community built on creativity, courage, and connection.

On October 16, we unveiled the wall during our very first Hive Hangout, an afternoon filled with treats, laughter, and an exciting volleyball game. Families, donors, and students gathered to celebrate this milestone for SGS.

As SGS Head of School, Brenda Leaks, said:
"We could not have built this amazing space for leadership and connection without the broad support of our community. Let’s go Bees!"
